Gia drew inspiration from a past relationship for this song. “I felt misunderstood. All I wanted was for him to understand me and love me for who I am, just as I loved him, flaws and all. It takes time to break down the walls we build, but once you do, it’s hard to let go,” she says. Gia’s pouring her heart out, and you can’t help but feel every bit of it.
Her music isn’t just about her; it’s about all of us. She wants people to know that “love is worth fighting for. Sometimes you need a break, sometimes you won’t understand your partner, but if the foundation is there, everything else can be worked on.” That’s real talk.
It has been a challenging ride for Gia. The music industry can be ruthless, and she’s had her share of ups and downs. “A lot of the downs in the music industry come from people not believing in your work. You have to be the 90% believer in yourself. The work you put in will show, and people will take you seriously.” Gia’s all about women’s empowerment and body positivity, too. “I’m comfortable with my body. I dress for me. But it’s a hit or miss sometimes.”
Growing up was tough for Gia. Raised by her Jehovah’s Witness grandparents and dealing with her father’s departure, she had to grow up fast. “I had to defend myself a lot. My father leaving had a big impact on my life. My mom and I didn’t have a good relationship growing up because I wanted my father. But we’ve had our moments of understanding and love.”
Her musical influences are a nod to the greats – Mya, Missy Elliott, Lil’ Kim, Jade, 2Pac, Biggie, and Aaliyah. They’ve shaped her sound, blending old-school vibes with raw, real-life emotion.
Gia’s got big plans. “I’m a great writer. If I’m not meant for the scene, I know I’m meant for some type of scene because I have so much talent to share. We need music with substance, not just empty souls walking around.”

She does everything independently but is open to the right opportunities. “I would sign to a label, management, or promotional deal if it aligns with my vision. I put 100% into my work and need anyone working with me to put in 150%.”
