But her journey goes beyond the mic. Miss Knockout brought awareness and strength across the world by sharing her battle with stage 3 breast cancer on VH1’s Basketball Wives. She didn’t just survive, she thrived! Even during treatment, she never stopped creating. She used her music as therapy and fuel.

Her reach stretches far beyond the booth. She’s a working actress with appearances in hit series like Gotham and Orange Is the New Black, starred in Yo Gotti’s “Lifestyle” video, and lent her presence to major campaigns like Beats by Dre with Kevin Garnett. She’s also a print model whose face has graced billboards all throughout New York City.

In this exclusive interview, she talks about the moments that shaped her, the music that moves her, and the mission behind every rhyme. This is Miss Knockout: raw, real, and ready for whatever comes next.

What’s a moment in your life that completely changed the way you approach music?

Being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer was the moment that shifted everything for me. It forced me to face life head-on, stripped of ego, and with nothing but my truth to hold on to. I never stopped creating—not even through treatments. That experience gave my music new depth. I no longer just rap to prove I’m nice on the mic—I speak from a place of survival, resilience, and purpose. Every bar I write now carries more weight, more urgency, because I know firsthand how precious time and voice really are. Music became my medicine, my mission, and my legacy.

When you’re alone, what kind of music do you listen to that might surprise your fans?

When I’m alone, I tap into old-school soul and smooth jazz—think Anita Baker, Sade, classical, and even a little Miles Davis. I listen to a lot of the new music too, to keep up with the times. I love rapper/YouTuber DDG. It surprises people because I come with that raw hip hop energy, but when I’m unwinding, I need something that speaks to my spirit. Those sounds ground me, inspire my pen in a different way, and remind me where real emotion in music comes from. It’s calm, it’s timeless, and it hits just as hard—just in a different way.

Was there ever a time you considered quitting music? What pulled you back in?

Honestly? I never truly felt like quitting. The thought might’ve crossed my mind during the low moments, but deep down, I knew I wasn’t built to give up. Music is a part of me — it’s how I process life, tell my story, and connect with people. No matter how tough it gets, quitting was never a real option. I made myself a promise, I’m not stopping until I reach where I’m going. Period. That fire, that purpose, that vision of where I’m headed — that’s what keeps me going every time.

What’s a lyric you’ve written that still gives you chills—and why?

“Strangers are fans, haters are people you know, people are phony, always get to the doe.” From my song “No Cappin.” All you got is yourself, throw yourself on your back and keep pushing.

How do you handle the pressure to constantly perform and stay relevant in such a fast-paced industry?

I stay grounded by staying true to who I am — I don’t chase trends, I create my own lane. The pressure don’t shake me because I built this from the ground up with purpose, not for clout. I stay consistent, keep evolving, and let my work speak louder than the noise.

What’s one song you wish you wrote, and what would you have done differently with it?

One song I wish I wrote is “DNA.” by Kendrick Lamar. The raw energy, the message, the delivery, it’s all powerful. If it were mine, I would’ve flipped the beat mid-verse and thrown in a female perspective with the same aggression, just to show the duality of strength and struggle from a woman’s side. It would’ve hit just as hard, but with that Miss Knockout edge.

If your discography told a story, what would the plot be?

If my discography told a story, it would be about a girl who came from nothing, fought through pain, loss, and the system, and turned every setback into a setup for a comeback. It’s a story of survival, self-made success, and staying solid in a world that tried to break her. From the struggle to the spotlight, every track is a chapter of truth, hustle, and growth — no cappin.

How do you know when a song is “finished”? Or is it never really done?

For me, a song is finished when it hits me in the chest — when the beat, the lyrics, the energy all line up and I feel it in my soul like, “Yeah, that’s it.” But, at the same time, as an artist and a producer, I know I could tweak forever if I let myself. So I trust my gut, lock it in, and let it go — because perfection ain’t in the polish, it’s in the emotion.

What’s one misconception people have about you as an artist?

One big misconception is that because I’m confident and raw with my delivery, but I’m very humble, down-to-earth people think I’m just all attitude and bars. But there’s real depth, pain, and purpose behind everything I do. I’m not just rapping — I’m telling stories, building a brand, and creating a legacy with intention.

If you could create your dream collaboration—alive or not—who would it be and what would the song sound like?

I would collaborate with Lauryn Hill and J. Cole. That would be a masterpiece. The song would be soulful, reflective, and powerful — live instruments, deep lyrics, and a message that sticks with you. We’d speak on pain, growth, and purpose from three different angles, blending wisdom with raw emotion. It’d be timeless — like a therapy session wrapped in a beat.
